Mitie Spain builds security services Biservicus Group

• Mitie Spain has acquired Biservicus, a security business specialising in the installation, maintenance, surveillance and operation of fire, security, and alarm systems, based in the Canary Islands, Spain

• With the accreditation and licences to provide security services across the whole country, the addition of Biservicus will enable Mitie Spain to build its security capabilities

• Biservicus brings 30 years of expertise in the security sector, with 200 specialist colleagues joining the Mitie team

Mitie is expanding its security capabilities in Spain through the acquisition of Biservicus Group, a security business specialising in the installation, maintenance, surveillance and operation of fire, security, and alarm systems. The acquisition marks Mitie Spain’s first move into the security sector and compliments its existing cleaning and facilities management operations across the country.

Biservicus brings 30 years of experience delivering technology-led security services, with the business having installed 8,000 security alarms for 4,000 customers. While Biservicus is headquartered in in the Canary Islands, it is fully certified to deliver security services across Spain. The acquisition also includes Bisermax Control, a provider of facilities management services, specialising in the hospitality industry.

Nearly 200 specialist Biservicus colleagues will join the Mitie team in Spain, including its senior leadership team. With immediate effect, José Luis García Hurtado, Mitie Spain’s Managing Director, has become General Manager of Biservicus, overseeing the business as it integrates with Mitie Spain.

The addition of Biservicus will enhance Mitie’s service offering in Spain, which currently provides a wide range of cleaning and facilities management services, predominantly focused on transport, aviation, retail and healthcare customers, to also include security services. Mitie Spain has 6,000 colleagues working across mainland Spain, the Canary Islands, and the Balearic Islands.
